Mahabandoola
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
General Mahabandoola (Burmese: မဟာဗန္ဓုလ; c. 1780 - 1 April 1825; born in Danabyu, Burma; also spelt Maha Bandula), was a famous general who fought against the British in the First Anglo-Burmese War, from 1824 to 1826. He was influential in helping the Konbaung Dynasty pursue a policy of expansionism.
Mahabandoola Road and Mahandoola Garden in Yangon are named after him.
He was not born in Danubyu. He was actually killed in a battle there.
