[edit] Plot introduction
Septimus Heap, the seventh son of the seventh son, is pronounced dead by the midwife on the night he is born. That same night, his father, Silas, finds a newborn girl with violet eyes in the snow. The Heaps take the baby girl into their home, name her Jenna, and raise her as their own. But who is this mysterious baby girl, and what really happened to their beloved son Septimus?
[edit] Plot summary
The book begins with Silas Heap trudging through the snow toward the Castle. The same night, his wife Sarah Heap had a baby boy, who she named Septimus Heap. As Silas was walking, he saw a baby girl with violet eyes stranded in the snow. Right before he got to the castle gates, Marcia told him if anyone asked about the baby it was born to him. When Silas got home the Matron Midwife was running out of the small home reporting Septimus dead. The baby girl settled down into the home just fine. Sarah and Silas named her Jenna. Sally Mullin came to the Heap's every once in a while with news. One day, she came to talk to Sarah. Her story today was that Alther, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard, was dead. The queen was dead also; she was shot by a silver bullet. The 'Custodian Guards' are now trying to find the princess. Where is she? Where is Septimus, and why does Boy 412 have strange Magykal talent? There is a sequel called Flyte.
