Maguiresbridge

Maguiresbridge is a small village in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 774 people. It lies within the Fermanagh District Council area.
The town is named after the bridge over the Colebrooke river, first built by the local Maguire family.

Maguiresbridge is classified as a small village or hamlet by the NI Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) (ie with population between 500 and 1,000 people). On Census day (29 April 2001) there were 774 people living in Maguiresbridge. Of these:
- 25.5% were aged under 16 years and 15.6% were aged 60 and over
- 50.4% of the population were male and 49.6% were female
- 40.4% were from a Catholic background and 57.6% were from a Protestant background
- 6.9% of people aged 16-74 were unemployed

Maguiresbrdidge are also renound for having a very good gaelic team, and in particular, their minors are very good, with such quality players as Cahir May and Dave Johnston,. Cahir is known throughout the county for his speed and strength, he has very accurate place kicking and has a great catch and is a brilliant prospect.
