[edit] Complaints
As with the S&W Model 500, the BFR encountered numerous complaints, mainly from anti-gun activists that claim the weapon is too powerful and is a danger to police officers and the like. As the word handgun is often reffered to as being a weapon that can be concealed, this sparked some fear with those who heard of the gun. In fact, the weapon, like the S&W Model 500, cannot be concealed under anything but a trenchcoat, and even then would have the danger of accidentally falling out, or becoming a hinderance and being discovered. It is also not a choice firearm for any type of carry other than hunting, especially in a large calibre such as the .45-70, it holds a limited number of rounds, and being a single action pistol, is difficult to fire repeatedly.
