Magnetic accelerator gun

A magnetic accelerator gun (MAG) is a general term for any weapon that converts electrical energy, rather than the more conventional chemical energy from an explosive propellant, into projectile kinetic energy. Variations include but are not limited to:-

A larger version is sometimes called a magnetic accelerator cannon, or MAC.
