Magnet (magazine)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Magnet is a music magazine focused on alternative, independent, or out-of-the-mainstream bands. It is independently owned and edited by Eric T. Miller. The first issue of Magnet came out in 1993.

The magazine's content tends to focus on feature-length pieces about up-and-coming indie bands (recent cover stories have included exclusives on The Shins, Belle & Sebastian and The New Pornographers), lengthy expositions on various music "scenes" (Minneapolis in the '80s, the U.K. Shoegazer movement, etc.) and "artists within a construct" (the Eccentrics and Dreamers issue featuring various "outsider" artists).
