Magnet is a village in Cedar County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 79 at the 2000 census.

Magnet is located at 42°27′19″N, 97°28′15″W (42.455401, -97.470798)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.1 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 79 people, 37 households, and 20 families residing in the village. The population density was 217.9/km² (547.7/mi²). There were 39 housing units at an average density of 107.6/km² (270.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 75 (94.94%) White, 3 (3.80%) Native American, and 1 (1.27%) from two or more races.

There were 37 households out of which 5 (13.5%) have children under the age of 18 living with them, 16 (43.2%) are married couples living together, 2 (5.4%) have a female householder with no husband present, and 17 (45.9%) are non-families. 13 (35.1%) households are made up of individuals and 6 (16.2%) have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.80.

In the village the population was spread out with 13 (16.5%) under the age of 18, 6 (7.6%) from 18 to 24, 27 (34.2%) from 25 to 44, 17 (21.5%) from 45 to 64, and 16 (20.3%) who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. There are 37 females to 42 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 127.6 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $36,250, and the median income for a family was $36,250. Males had a median income of $24,000 versus $21,667 for females. The per capita income for the village was $15,357. There were no families and 1.3% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 10.0% of those over 64.
