[edit] The Oreo Scene
There is a scene in the movie where Ashley is starting to realize that there might in fact be a friendly lake monster dwelling in the depths of this lake, so decides to leave out some Oreo Cookies on the edge of a dock for Orky to eat. The next morning, she wakes up to find the Oreos still there, but the centers licked out by something which is cleary not a small animal such as a rodent because they would have eaten the cookies too. It does leave you wondering how that giant monster managed to just eat the inside of a Oreo.
Waring contains more spoilers than the above paragraph. It all ends while Ashley, Josh and the kid from Japan are trapped inside a sunk "fake Orky". Meanwhile Jack Black has fallen through the hole he dug. The kids get rescued by Orky and are freed by their dad. They discover where Orky lives and see him lying on the shore of his underground cave. They thank him but he apparently dies. The bad guy get arested and everyone is sad. They next day Ashley and the Japanese kid camp out on the dock with a plate of oreos. When they wake up the next moring the insides are licked clean.
