Magic Five Grand Fraternity/Sorority

The roots of Magic Five Grand Fraternity and Sorority were founded in the Philippine College of Criminology, based on the principle of the universal brotherhood of man; founded upon the principles of truth and justice. An organization valuing the true meaning of brotherhood; upholding equality over prejudice; love for thy brothers and sister; advocating service to the community and promoting academic excellence, leadership and discipline.

The uniqueness of the organization lies on its Five Member Fraternity/Sorority. Despite the proud ego of warring fraternities, we were able to maintain the humbleness in each of us, acknowledging and helping every brother/sister who is a part of Magic Five. A dynamic and diverse organization, Magic Five is one of its kind.

In September 21, 1962, Atty. Bayani Villegas-Balboa, founded one of the powerful groups, the oldest brother of Magic Five named Crime Buster Fraternity, the goals of which is to organize the students of Philippine College of Criminology and to lessen the chaos in school; the role is similar to that of the student council, and against criminality. Following the steps of the founding father, it was in 1963 when Mommy Lucia Villegas Balboa of Crime Buster founded and organized the Crime Buster Sorority.

While attending school in Philippine College of Criminology, Col. Wilson Banzuelo Relox, from the province of San Fernando, Romblon founded the Phi Lambda Epsilon Fraternity, on March 8, 1965 and later being the 2nd brother group of Magic Five. It was 1966 when they decided to join forces with the Crime Buster Fraternity.

It was through the efforts of Atty. Miguel Viacrusis; then a transferee from De LaSalle University, that the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity was founded on the 7th of August 1968. On that same year, they joined forces of the Crime Buster and Phi Lambda Epsilon, thus being the 3rd brother group of Magic Five.

Ex.-SPO4 Rolando "Rolly" King from Caloocan City founded the Delta Sigma Family Fraternity on September 7, 1975. He earlier founded it in Caloocan community but it didn't prosper. When he went to college in Philippine College of Criminology, he then re-organized the fraternity; it was then that it became popular. It was 1976 when they decided to join forces of the Crime Buster, Phi Lambda Epsilon and Delta Sigma Phi as the 4th among the brother groups of Magic Five.

The 5th and the youngest brother group in Magic Five is the Alpha Rho Omicron Fraternity, which was founded by Col. Billy Feria on August 5, 1975. The goal was to attain academic excellence, generate good and disciplined students. It was 1978 when they decided to join forces of the Crime Buster, Phi Lambda Epsilon, Delta Sigma Phi and Delta Sigma Family.

The idea of Madam Mommy Lucia Villegas Balboa of Crime Buster is to merge the forces of the "Five Brothers" to have unity and for the organization to be much organized. When Magic Five was founded, she told all members and officials the idea of becoming one and they will support each other no matter what happen, for better or for worse, help each other.

Since then 50% of the students today in Philippine College of Criminology are members of Magic Five. Chapters sprouted in different schools and colleges particularly in Metro Manila. Collegiate and community chapters were also organized in various cities and provinces throughout the archipelago of the Philippines through the labours of our brothers and sister who shared the values Magic Five has carved in their hearts by building the chapters later on.

Today Magic Five Grand Fraternity and SORORITY is one of the most celebrated organizations in the country with members from all walks of the society; collegiate leaders, professionals, rich and successful businessmen, high profile politicians, showbiz celebrity, government official, lawyers and especially police officers. Now being a Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C.) duly accredited organization, our members continue to nurture the seeds planted by our founding fathers, proclaiming the greatness of being a Magic Five brother/sister.
