Maggia is a town in the Valle Maggia District of Canton Ticino, Switzerland. It has 774 inhabitants (2000). The present Municipality of Maggia has been created in 2004 to unite the previously distinct municipalities of Maggia, Moghegno, Aurigeno, Giumaglio, Someo and Lodano. The municipality has about 2400 inhabitants and its official language is Italian.
