Magdalene (comics)

Magdalene was a fictional character, a member of the Avengers from Marvel Comics. She first appeared in Avengers (first series) # 343, January, 1992, and was created by Bob Harras, Steve Epting, and Tom Palmer. She was loosely based on the DC Comics character Big Barda.
Magdalene was a member of the Avengers in an alternate timeline, a world which was destroyed by an alternate version of Sersi. As a result, she joined the Gatherers, a group formed by Proctor,an alternate version of Dane Whitman, kown in the Mainstream Marvel Universe as the Black Knight. The purpose of the Gatherers was to destroy every universe's version of Sersi, so that she could no longer be a threat.
When Proctor, in his single-mindedness, attempted to destroy Sersi and the Avengers of Earth 616 at the cost of the Gatherers' lives, Magdalene reluctantly joined forces with the Avengers, along with her lover, the Swordsman.
Magdelene had superhuman strength and stamina, and was armed with a power-lance which fired energy bolts and opened space warps.
