Magda Trocmé

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Magda Trocmé was the wife of Andre Trocmé. They had seven children and lived in the Hugenot town Le Chambon-sur-Lignon. When Nazis were rounding up Jews to transport them to death camps, Magda and her husband hid them in the woods surrounding their village.

In 1971, she and her husband were recognized by the Israeli Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations for their work in rescuing Jews, an honor that would be extended to their entire town in 1990.
