Maemae is nestled in the beautiful and historic Nu'uanu Valley. The school's address is 319 Wyllie Street, Honolulu, Hawaii,ʻi 96817. Ma'ema'e, clean and pure in the Hawaiian language, is situated in an old and established community.

Residents from all facets of the community support the school in many ways. The annual Family Fun Night, the Ma'ema'e Centennial Celebration, and the Ma'ema'e School Community Based Management Council, are examples of people in the community coming together to create an environment that supports learning and growing for all.

Ma'ema'e has grown from a simple three-building facility to its present design with seven buildings that accommodate nearly 780 students from kindergarten through the sixth grade.
