A writer and translator living and working in Japan, I enjoy a variety of activities including reading, photography, cycling, snowboarding, scuba diving, manga, anime, Japanese culture, "ruins/abandoned-building hunting" (known as "haikyo hanchingu" or "haikyo mania" in Japanese) and photography, and a myriad of other activities. I married a Japanese woman on April 1, 2005. I keep a LiveJournal under the title The Moped Ronin in which I write about my life and the culture of Japan.

My goal is to contribute to the Japanese culture sections as I have a great deal of knowledge of modern Japanese pop culture.
