Madurai Tamil

Madurai Tamil is the dialect which is spoken in the city of Madurai, as well as over a vast geographical area of South Tamil Nadu, the area once ruled by the Pandiya It differs substantially from Tirunelveli and Nagarkoil Tamil. The city sponsored the Tamil Sangam in the days of Pandiya and the people of Madurai speak Tamil not very different from the classical forms[citation needed]. It is a original form of tamil.
