Madiga also known as Maadiga, Madigan ,Madigar ,Madar, Chamar , Samagar, Jadav,... It is name of sub-caste of India, found in all parts of india. They are traditionally Tanners. Depending on their specialization they dividing into kulas like Chamar-Coblor... people who make shoes , Samagar ---people who make leather cloaths...Originally they were Hindus, because of upper caste negative attitude..Today large number of them are converted to Christainity and Buddhism. They are belived as aboriginal rulers of India, hence called MAHA-AADIGA (GREATEST AND THE EARLIEST).
