Maccabim-Re'ut

Maccabim-Re'ut (or Makkabbim-Re'ut; Hebrew: מַכַּבִּים-רֵעוּת) is the unified name of the two community settlements Maccabim and Re'ut in the Center District of Israel.

In 2003, the local council of Maccabim-Re'ut was united with the nearby Municipality of Modi'in (now called Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut). The total area of the local council was about 3,500 km². According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, in September 2003 the population of Maccabim-Re'ut was 10,600. Most of Maccabim-Re'ut's inhabitants are Jews and the sex ratio is 945 women to 1000 men.

Also according to the Israeli CBS, on December 2001 Maccabim-Re'ut had a "high" level on the social-economical grade (9 out of 10). 82.1% of its students achieved a high school certificate. The average salary was NIS 9,683 (national average: NIS 6,835).

The project of founding Maccabim in 1985 was led by the International Maccabi organisation; the project of founding nearby Re'ut in 1987 was led by an association of Israel's Standing Army officers.
