MacCentral
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MacCentral is the name of a web site that provided news and information for Mac Publishing Web sites, including Macworld.com and Playlist, before being merged with Macworld's own Web operations.
Founded by Canadian businessman Stan Flack in the mid-1990s, MacCentral Online began life as a web site that provided daily news pertinent to the Apple Macintosh computing platform. In 1998, MacCentral Online acquired MacGaming. Shortly thereafter, MacCentral Online was purchased by Mac Publishing, who gradually folded MacCentral's web site into its Macworld brand.
The maccentral.com domain now redirects to www.macworld.com, reflecting the fact that MacCentral is now fully integrated into the Macworld.com domain.
