The M-93 Crna Strela ("Black Arrow") .50 caliber (12.7 mm) sniper rifle had been developed by the Zastava Arms factory in Kragujevac during the 1990s. Since then, it has been used by Yugoslav and Serbian armed forces. It has been, and still is, used by Ministry of the Interior and special forces, notably the Special Operations Unit (Jedinica za Specijalne Operacije) It is also exported to various countries, including the USA and the Republic of Macedonia, where it has seen service in the 2001 Macedonian Conflict.

The current manufacturer, Zastava arms also manufactures a variety of other weapons. They range from AK-47 clones and variants to automatic grenade launchers.
