M-179 runs from US 131 at Exit 61 outside of Bradley to M-43 just west of Hastings. The highway passes through the Yankee Springs State Recreation Area. Prior to the 1998 Rationalization process, this highway was the eastern portion of county road A-42.
- Historical Notes: M-179 was originally a shortcut highway that started at US 131 near Ashton and ran about 2 miles north to what was then M-63 during the 1950's.
