From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mława pogrom was a series of violent incidents in June 1991, when a mob attacked local Roma population of Polish town Mława.

On June 26, a group of about 60 youths destroyed the house of local Roma leader in Mława. The attackers quickly grew in number and started burning the remaining Roma houses in the town. Despite a number of Roma being injured and thousands of inhabitants of the town watching the events, no one intervened. Some Roma found protection at the local police station. The pogrom lasted five days. In total 21 Roma houses and 10 apartments were destroyed.
