Münchenstein is a municipality in the district of Arlesheim, in the canton of Basel-Country, Switzerland. It was from these environs that the present-day Bricker family of the United States emigrated to American, settling in Lancaster County of Pennsylvania. Later descendents included the Governer, Senator, and Vice Presidential Candidate John Bricker. Recently, Barbara Bricker Elliott returned to live in Switzerland, completing a circle in returning to the land of her forefathers.
