Máchovo jezero is a lake (fish pond) (now 2.84 km²) in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic, near town Doksy, under Bezděz Castle.

During Tertiary large lake existed on this place (as a remnant of older see). During last Ice Age the lake got drained away leaving only peat bog. In 1366 to 1367 Charles IV ordered to establish large pond here.

Older name was Velký rybník or Hirschberský rybník (in German Hirschberger Großteich). Its current name got used after 1945, officially since 1961. The name could be translated as Mácha's Lake (in German Mácha-See), after romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha.

Today it is the most famous summer recreational area in the Czech Republic.
