[edit] Naming convention

  • The japanese name of the charater Orpheus from the Greek mythology is オルペウス (Orubeusu = Orpheus), or オルフェウス (Orufeusu = Orpheus). But while the name of the Saint Seiya movie character is indeed オルフェウス (Orpheus), Kurumada named his manga character オルフェ (Orufe = Orphee), which is the French form of the name, Orphée .
As for when he named the Aquarius Gold Saint Camus after the French writer Albert Camus, Kurumada probably made a reference to Cocteau's movie "Orphée" (1950).
However I didn't know if I had to put the character "é" in the title of the article : Orphee or Orphée ? Folken de Fanel 10:51, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
    • I don't think it'd be inaccurate to add the little "é" to the name; especially if Kurumada had intended it to be a reference. Go right ahead. -Tragic Taco
