Lyrical Commission

Lyrical Commission are a Melbourne-based, Australian hip hop outfit, who released their debut album The Stage Is Set in 2002. Lyrical Commission is comprised of Trem, Brad Strut, Bob Balans, and DJ J-Red. J-Red has won several Australian DJ battles such as DMC, ITF, VESTAX and has placed in the world top 5 each year since 2001. On 17 December 2005, J-Red won the ITF World DJ Championships for the X-Perimental category.

Lyrical Commission's style is raw and features strident lyrics. Together with groups such as Hilltop Hoods, After Hours and Funkoars they are part of the evolving Australian hip hop scene which continutes to gain popularity and attention from the mainstream.

Lyrical Commission have recently released the follow-up to their debut LP 'The Stage is Set' entitled 'Murderous Metaphors'.
