LynuxWorks, Inc. is a software company based in San José, California, USA that produces embedded operating systems and tools for embedded systems development. LynuxWorks began in 1988 as Lynx Real-Time Systems with its flagship product, the LynxOS real-time operating system (RTOS), which has been used particularly in industrial, networking and military and aerospace applications.

In 2000, LynuxWorks began offering its BlueCat Linux platform for embedded systems and acquired Integrated Software & Devices Corporation (ISDCorp), a nine-year-old embedded systems company. LynuxWorks is a founding member of the Embedded Linux Consortium.

In 2003, the company introduced the LynxOS-178 real-time operating system, a specialized version of its LynxOS operating system especially for use in avionics applications that require certification to industry standards such as DO-178B.
