[edit] Biography
Lynette's profile doesn't give too much details of her past or how she came to work with Cepheus. She's the one in charge of selling clothes and accessories, but she's in search of her life's calling.
She often saw her co-workers work hard to become what they've chosen as their careers, and usually compared herself to them. Even though she lived in a town of mixed east and west cultures, she was yet to find something she would focus her energies on.
One day Cepheus, realizing her suffering, came and told her to be patient, that she doesn't need to be like the others, that she should take her time and find her answer.
Since then Lynette has started to travel in search of an answer. She went from store to store, trying to work there while hearing others' experience and stories. She asked customers as well, and also took walks outside. Eventually she took other hobbies, like dancing and self-defense.
Still nothing seemed appealing to her. She would still search, for the world is wide and full of surprises.
[edit] Weapon
-- Cepheus Seal
A pair of tambourines Lynette uses normally. They are most probably lent or given by Cepheus to her when she learned to dance. Other than boasting a unique design, they don't have special effects.
-- Terpsichore
Lynette's Ultimate weapon. With a pure heart, she might have been able to find Soul Calibur, but she has no knowledge of it at all. The Terpsichore has some pretty unique special effects, mainly focused on staying alive. The Terpsichore can gradually recover Lynette's health, not only by letting time pass, but by attacking opponents and by using half of the opponent's dealt damage with each connecting attack. The Terpsichore is also made of a strong ston or iron, so it can easily break an opponent's guard.
[edit] Stages
Lynette has no stages of her own, but she appears on Tales of Souls mode as a "Prepare to Defend Yourself" challenge in the Lakeside Colliseum (caged version) among the other shopkeepers as the third opponent of a 3-characters Team Battle.
[edit] Character Analysis
Lynette uses a Create-a-Fighter Custom discipline, which lacks many of the options present in more developed Standard Character's movelists. Lynette's style is versatile, having an assorted group of attacks and maneuvers to trick enemies, and healing taunts. Some of her moves are borrowed from Voldo, as well as Tekken characters Christie Monteiro and Ling Xiaoyu. She also has a projectile attack borrowed from Yoshimitsu, in which she literally "burps" a purplish gas towards the enemy (however, she moves in a way that would suggest a blowing a kiss gesture).
[edit] Trivia
- Lynette appears first on the game's Shop, in charge of the Armor section of it. In her shop the player can buy various parts pertaining to Create-a-Fighter mode, both male and female parts.
- Lynette's entire costume is made from Create-a-Fighter parts. However, her body build is unique.
- The tambourines appeared first as Voldo's Joke weapon in Soul Calibur II. Even if Lynette has them as weapon, Voldo's joke isn't changed in Soul Calibur III.
- Lynette's Destined Battle (during Quick Play) is Talim.
- Lynette is easily the most innocent minded and childish character in the Soul series.
- Many of Lynette's techniques are moves from Tekken's Capoeira style.
