Lyman is a village in Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 421 at the 2000 census.

Lyman is located at 41°55′1″N, 104°2′23″W (41.916973, -104.039781)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 421 people, 162 households, and 106 families residing in the village. The population density was 416.8/km² (1,083.3/mi²). There were 179 housing units at an average density of 177.2/km² (460.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 76.96% White, 0.24% Native American, 1.43% Asian, 0.24% Pacific Islander, 19.95% from other races, and 1.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.44% of the population.

There were 162 households out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% were non-families. 29.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.23.

In the village the population was spread out with 29.9% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 23.0% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 18.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 82.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $23,571, and the median income for a family was $27,969. Males had a median income of $26,250 versus $14,107 for females. The per capita income for the village was $13,080. About 20.6% of families and 27.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 44.5% of those under age 18 and 3.2% of those age 65 or over.
