Luxo L-1

The Luxo L-1 is an architects or anglepoise type luminaire. It was designed in 1937 by Jac Jacobsen for Luxo, a Norwegian company. The main difference between the L-1 and the contemporary Anglepoise lamp is that the L-1 has a spring-balanced arm. According to the Luxos web site, it has sold 25 million units since 1937.

- It was awarded the Norwegian Design Council's Klassikerprisen in 1993
