Wax Tailor warning/deletion

Hi Luna Santin, Im a wiki rookie and started a page for Wax Tailor. Being a rookie I kept making mistakes and editing them.... I was the one who started it and made all edits. So I can do that but not in one sitting - well 24hours? So I should use preview instead of save. Also how can I get his bio up on the page? I have permission to use his bio as im promoting his music in Australia. So I should footnote that and im ok right - can I just footnote source? thanks fred

13:18, 6 August 2006 (UTC) Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Luna Santin 13:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

how can we delete a page which I consider as dangerious?

Hello I think that the page about the duo prussian blue must be deleted beacause its content could be dangerous, specially for kinds. Is it not possible? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wnxbcv (talkcontribs) 7 August 2006.

Could I just edit the archive to change HTTP to HTML? I just got them confused, but I am rather embarassed by the mistake. --TheGreatLlama (speak to the Llama!) 01:15, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

User talk:74.237.15.152 The Bold and The Beautiful

The edits I made on August 7, 2006 were done in the interest of brevity and in order to provide an overview of the show as opposed to rehashing storylines in detail. Storyline details can be found in the archives of the show's website and are not necessary to be included in a summary site such as Wikipedia. Please consider restoring the edits. Thank you.

Hey, thanks for picking up the mistake... however, when I load the page, it still cuts. Is it just my browser, because even if it works for you, I can't see the whole page. --tankman 08:58, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

No, its OK... I checked the page at school and its fine... so the problem is with my browser at home, which is still a problem for me.--tankman 22:09, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Bizarre blanking

Thanks for fixing that so quickly. I was trying to do it myself, but got an edit conflict. Do you know why that happens? It's the second time I've tried to remove that user's speculation from the trivia section of that article, and both times it has blanked huge chunks, even though all I did was go to the previous version and resave that. Any help would be appreciated! Jenny Wong 07:24, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Ah, that would make sense as I do have the Google toolbar installed. Thanks for getting back so quickly! Jenny Wong 07:44, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for reverting my user page - it's much appreciated. These tonight make a total of something like 10 or 12 vandalisms this week. I'm not sure if I should be pleased or if I should go into hiding. :-) Thanks again - Baseball,Baby! ballsstrikes 08:44, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reposting a welcome message to Nellistc's talk page. I was attempting to work in my own sandbox and accidently (God knows how) copy/paste on Nellistc's talk page. Since I am still rather new, I didn't want to leave it (with it's message to contact me with questions, since I couldn't answer anything other than the basics). Glad a proper welcome has been issued. :) rhmoore 09:45, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Hi Luna... I have only recently begun contributing to Wikipedia, and even then hesistantly despite the entreaty to be bold (trust me, it won't take long), and I logged on today to find your "Welcome" message. Thank you very much. It's that sort of greeting that reinforces my comfort in being here. I look forward to being a contributing member of the group where my limited knowledge allows. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Don Ellis (talkcontribs) 12 August 2006.

A message so soon :-)

You're either next door or in a time zone far, far away... thank you again. I imagine I'll confine my contributions to things I know about -- or at least know a little more about than what I find in a particular article -- plus minor grammar corrections on other matters. I'm an advertising copywriter and somehow, mostly by osmosis, I've accumulated some grammar skills over the years, probably from looking up answers for clients questioning my usage and phrasing. I'm American but have lived in Hong Kong for 20 years, so I even have a bit of fluency in British and American English. Which brings me to a question -- is British or American English preferred on Wikipedia? Or is it so international that we can do what we want? Or match the English to the subject (like Westminter versus Kansas)? Cheers... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Don Ellis (talkcontribs) 12 August 2006.

Edit on Holy Cross College, Ryde

I believe my edit should not have been reverted due to a degree of accuracy. A former teacher and year coordinator at the said high school was arrested for sexual misconduct with several students (notorious for being "trouble makers" and having many disciplinary issues) in which sodomy took place. If you feel the reference to the incident was too satirical, i apologise, but I still wish for it to be included in the page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 211.30.200.208 (talkcontribs) 13 August 2006.

Islamophobia AfD

It's all good. Although we're supposed to assume good faith the motives of the editor who's nominated the article this third time seem retaliatory. (Netscott) 12:29, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

On YouTube

I'm a little surprised to hear that really. I've seen so very many YouTube links on Wikipedia over such an extended period of time that I simply assumed them to be commonplace. Am I correct in assuming that you've adopted a policy of deleting every single YouTube link you come across on the website? If so, you will certainly have your work cut out for you. 217.136.49.99 09:18, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Subst: templates

Hi! I see that, using AWB, you've replaced some tags with their subst: equivalents. For my education, what does this actually accomplish? The language is exactly the same. (Basically, why are subst: tag templates more valuable and/or appropriate than their non-subst: tag counterparts?) -- please don't say "beacuse of the Wikipedia substituion guideline" -- I've looked at that, but I don't quite get it. I need a simplier explanation. Thanks.

Oh -- also -- how can one tell whether there is a subst: template for each tag? I do not think they exist for all of them. Thanks! --CPAScott 14:43, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
