Lunds

Lunds and Byerly's are supermarkets under common ownership in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul region of Minnesota.
Lunds was founded as Hove's in the early twentieth century at the corner of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis. Russell Lund, Sr., an employee, took an equity stake in the cheese and cracker department in 1922 and after founding a popcorn business, a larger stake in 1939. The chain took the Lunds name in 1964.
The first Byerly's was opened in 1968 in Golden Valley, Minnesota by Don Byerly.
Lunds and Byerly's are a high-end supermarket chain which provide additional services, like loading the car with groceries, not found at other stores in the area.
In 1997 Lunds merged with Byerly's.
As of 2006 there are 10 Lunds stores and 10 Byerly's in the Twin Cities area.
