Luka Nižetić

Luka Nižetić (born on August 12, 1983 in Split,Croatia). Luka Nižetić published his first (debutant) album Premijera. He is best know for his hits "Ponekad poželim" (Sometimes I wish) and "Proljeće" (Springtime).

Luka Nižetić is the second child of Tamara and Milo, who grew up together with his sister Petra. He grew up in Mertojak, which is one part of his native town Split. Luka is very much attached to Split. His parents noticed Luka's great interest in music, right from his early childhood. Consequently, they sent him to nuns for his first music tuition. The nun, called Cecilia, was teaching Luka to play the piano. When he was about 11 years old music professor Mišo Linić started giving to Luka lessons in singing and gave him the basic knowledge in composing. The opera diva Sanja Erceg – Vrekalo was also helping to bring his singing technique to perfection. When Luka was about seventeen years old, he composed his first song «Ludi grade» („Oh Crazy Town“). Famous composer Zdenko Runjić included this song in his music festival MHJ 2001. To everybody' surprise, the young singer won three Silver Seagulls for the 2nd prize of the expert jury. After that, the years with more or less successful Luka's performances followed.

2004 was the year of crucial importance for the young musician. He signed the contract with discographic house Menart, and published his first album Premijera out of which we have singles «Ne krivi me» (Don't Blame Me), «Tebi pjevam» (I'm singing to you), «Ponekad poželim» (Sometimes I wish), «Proljeće» (Springtime) and «Meni trebaš ti» (I need you). After his second performance in Dora in 2005. (Dora is the name of croatian official competition for "Eurovision song") where he presented his own song «Proljeće» (Springtime), Luka Nižetić became well known music personnality in Croatia. There followed the nomination for discographic prize Porin(Croatian equivalent for Grammy) in the category for the "débutant of the year" as well as the performance on the prestigious manifestation in croatian town Osijek. Later, Luka reached a success on Croatian Radio festival in 2006 singing together with Lana Jurčević the hit song «Prava ljubav» (True Love) which soon became another Luka's big hit, getting to the top of almost all Croatian top lists. On Light Music Festival, Split 2006., he presented his most recent song "More" (The Sea) for which he won the Golden Sail, the first prize of audience, on the first final evening of the festival. In the Superfinale, Luka got the third prize of the audience. Right now, Luka Nižetić is still successfully presenting on concerts his album Premijera, working simultaneously on his new album which is expected to be published at the beginning of the year 2007
