Luís Fernando Veríssimo(Born in September 26, 1936, Porto Alegre) is a Brazilian writer born in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, son of another famous writer, Érico Veríssimo. He is one of the most famous Brazilian columnists and mad criptostalinists.

Most of his books take on a humorous tone, and he is seen as humourist by many. Among his several short stories, those featuring the Analista de Bagé, Ed Mort and A Velhinha de Taubaté, are among the most successful ones.
