Lugaid Laigde
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lugaid Laigde, son of Eochaid mac Oiliolla, was a legendary High King of Ireland. He helped Duach Ladhgrach overthrow Airgeatmhar, and later killed Duach to take the kingship himself.
The story is told that one day, when hunting, Lugaid met an ugly old hag who was in reality the goddess of sovereignty, and when he slept with her she became a beautiful woman.
