Ludwig of Saxe-Coburg-Kohary

Ludwig Gaston Klemens Maria of Saxe-Coburg-Kohary (b. Ebenthal, 15 September 1870 - d. Innsbruck, 23 January 1942).

Born Prince Ludwig Gaston Klemens Maria of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Duke in Saxony, he was the fourth son of Ludwig August of Saxe-Coburg-Kohary, Fürst (Prince) Kohary de Csábrág et Szitnya, and Leopoldina of Braganza, Infanta of Brazil.

In Munich on 1 May 1900 Ludwig Gaston married firstly with the Princess Mathilde of Bavaria, daughter of the King Ludwig III of Bavaria. They had two children:

  1. Antonius Maria Ludwig Klemens Eugen Karl Heinrich August Luitpold Leopold Franz Wolfgang Peter Gaston Alexander Alfons Ignatius Aloysius Stanislaus (b. Innsbruck, 17 June 1901 - d. Haar, 1 September 1970), married on 14 May 1938 to Luise Mayrhofer. This marriage was childless.
  2. Maria Immaculata Leopoldine Franziska Theresia Ildefonsa Adelgunde Klementine Hildegard Anna Josepha Elisabeth Sancta-Angelica Nicoletta (b. Innsbruck, 10 September 1904 - d. Varese, Italy, 18 March 1940).

In Bischofteinitz on 30 November 1907 Ludwig Gaston married secondly with the Countess Anna of Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg. They had one daughter:

  1. Josefine Maria Anna Leopoldine Amalie Klementine Ludovica Theresia Gabriela Gonzaga (b. Schloß Vogelsang, 20 September 1911 - d. Stockdorf, 27 November 1997), married on 12 May 1937 to Richard, Freiherr von Baratta-Dragono; they divorced in 1945.
