[edit] Plot introduction
The novel follows two separate narratives set in Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. Ludmila Derev, an impoverished young woman living the East European Bloc, sells herself on a Russian brides website in order to escape the trappings of her family. Meanwhile, recently separated conjoined twins Blair and Bunny Heath struggle to cope with life in a post-globalisation London.
