Lucy Turnbull

Lucy Turnbull, Australian politician, is a former Lord Mayor of Sydney and is the wife of businessman and fellow politician, Malcolm Turnbull. Lucy held the position of Lord Mayor until early 2004, when the Australian Labor Party government, under Bob Carr, sacked and re-amalgamated the City of Sydney and South Sydney Councils. (Clover Moore is the present Lord Mayor of Sydney).
Lucy Turnbull is a member of the board of governors of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, a respiratory and sleep research institute. She is also a director of investment bank Turnbull & Partners Pty Ltd, chairman of WebCentral Group Ltd (a web hosting company) and in early 2006 was appointed Administrator of Tweed Shire Council in northern NSW. Her background is in commercial law and investment banking. Her husband won the Federal seat of Wentworth in the 2004 election. The Turnbulls have two children, Alex (who works for Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong) and Daisy, who is at university.
