Lucens is a municipality in the district of Moudon, in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.
In 1969, the Lucens reactor, an underground nuclear reactor was set in operation in Lucens, and was immediately affected by a serious accident, resulting in massive radioactive contamination of the underground site, which was then sealed.
