Luís Eduardo Schmidt

Luís Eduardo Schmidt, nickname Edú, (born 10 January 1979 in Jaú, São Paulo). He is a Brazilian footballer and currently plays for Real Betis as a versatile forward.

[edit] São Paulo
- Edú made 8 appearances for São Paulo from 1997 through to 2000.
[edit] Celta Vigo
- Edú then moved to Celta where he made 117 La Liga appearances and scored 25 goals. Edú was loaned to Real Betis for two years when Celta got relegated in 2004 season.
[edit] Real Betis
- In his first season at Real Betis Edú made a huge impression as his partnership with Ricardo Oliveira shone. He scored 11 goals in 32 league appearances. Although not having an impressive second season, Edú was officially signed by Real Betis for €2.0 million in 2006.

- Edu made his debut against Australia on 17 November 1999. It was his first and only appearance for Brazil.

- Liverpool's defender Fábio Aurélio is a brother-in-law of Edú.
- He is also a cousin of former Real Madrid player Sávio Bortolini Pimentel.
