The LTU arena in Düsseldorf, Germany was built from 2002 to 2004 to replace the former Rheinstadion at the same site near the Rhein.
The multi-use stadium holds 51,500 and was not, as hoped for, selected as a venue for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
As the local football team Fortuna Düsseldorf is currently in the lower divisions of German football (as of January 2006, the average home attendance was 8,526), the home games of Rhein Fire and the World Bowl of NFL Europa are the main events. This game was hosted here in 1999, 2002 (as farewell to the Rheinstadion) and in 2005. It was announced for 2006, too.
The name was sponsored by LTU International, a German charter airline company based in Düsseldorf.
