Loyd Auerbach

Loyd Auerbach is an educator on parapsychology and a prominent field investigator and expert on psychic phenomena. He holds a Master's degree in Parapsychology from John F. Kennedy University(1981) and a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology from Northwestern University (1978).
Loyd Auerbach is the Director of The Office of Paranormal Investigations [1], and the author of several books on the paranormal (see list below). His first and best known book was ESP, Hauntings, and Poltergeists : A Parapsychologist's Handbook (ISBN 0-446-34951-8, 1986). That book was named the "Sacred Text" on ghosts by Newsweek in August 1996. He was the Public Information and Media Consultant to the American Society for Psychical Research in 1982-83 and on the Core Faculty of the Graduate Parapsychology Program at John F. Kennedy University. (Note: This academic program no longer exists). He was a columnist for FATE Magazine from 1991 through 2004. He is currently on the Advisory Board of the Rhine Research Center.
He is the creator and principal instructor of the Parapsychological Studies Certification Program at HCH Institute in Lafayette, CA. That program, approved by the State of California, is available for onsite students and for distance learning.[2]
Loyd Auerbach's most recent book is A Paranormal Casebook: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium (2005, ISBN 1-933177-04-7). Prior to that, his books are Hauntings & Poltergeists: A Ghost Hunter's Guide (2004, ISBN 1-57951-072-8), Ghost Hunting: How to Investigate the Paranormal (2004, ISBN 1-57951-067-1), Mind Over Matter (1996, ISBN 1-57566-047-4), Reincarnation, Channeling and Possession: A Parapsychologist's Handbook (1993, ISBN 0-446-36333-2) and Psychic Dreaming: A Parapsychologist's Handbook (1991, ISBN 0-446-36056-2), in addition to his first book.
Loyd Auerbach's media exposure includes many prominent appearances on paranormal-related programs for the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, The Learning Channel, A&E, the History Channel, the Sci Fi Channel and TechTV. In addition, he has appeared on hundreds of local and national radio programs, and television programs such as Larry King Live, Oprah, Criss Angel: Mindfreak, Late Night with David Letterman, and Popular Mechanics for Kids. Loyd Auerbach is a professional speaker, working mainly on the college circuit. He frequently consults with journalists and TV production personnel regarding stories and programs on the paranormal.
He is an accomplished professional mentalist and psychic entertainer, performing as Professor Paranormal. He performs mainly for private groups from dinner parties to large social/corporate events. He was President of the Psychic Entertainers Association for four terms, 2001-2005. [4]
