[edit] Light novel?
I wasn't sure what to call the "illustrated short stories" in Magi-Cu, because they're not really what you'd think of as a "light novel". The illustrations are in just as much prominence as the text, and they're not serialized in novel format (it's more like an artbook than anything else). So using the "light novel" infobox is probably inaccurate, but I don't have another suggestion. That's why I went with "illustrated short stories" in the text, for lack of an official term. - Alright, fair enough. I thought it seemed to be much like a light novel, but if you believe that these "illustrated short stories" do not fall under the same category as a light novel, then so be it.--(十八|talk) 07:51, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Japanese words in English Wikipedia
Since this is the English Wikipedia we are edited, I don't think it is necessary or even viable to our native language to list the title as it appears in the infobox using the hiragana at the beginning. Anime News Network lists the title as "Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~" and I believe this is the way we should also present it in the article. Also, if the title does not change from the main title used for the top of the infobox, there is no need to list it again.
Additionally, should the らぶドル in the title be seen as a Japanese portmanteau on the words "Lovely Idol"? I don't know why I never realized this before, but I believe this is the case, and should probably be noted in the article.--(十八|talk) 07:55, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think you're right about the portmanteau (in addition, the "doru" from "aidoru" has the convenient side-effect of sounding like "doll", which makes sense given the content). Also agree about using Lovedol in the article instead; sounds good to me. Thanks for bearing with my lack of experience. Relentlessflame 08:13, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, no problem. I think it's going to be great editing this and subsequent articles with you. =)--(十八|talk) 08:27, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
