Loud Kiddington is a fictional character featured on the Warner Bros. animated series Histeria! He is a young boy noted for the extremely loud volume in which he talks, as his name suggests.
Loud was the most recurring of the child characters seen on the show, to the point that he is one of two main characters to have an episode with his name in the title (Big Fat Baby being the other one). In that particular episode, "Loud Kiddinton's Ancient History", he plays a parody of the typical used car salesman seen in television commercials, accompanied by his talking dog, Fetch. Fetch is identical in appearance to Hunter from Road Rovers and loves to chase after his tennis ball (or any other round object). He refuses to eat anything that one would find anything disgusting, as shown in the aforementioned episode. Throughout that episode, Loud advertises for the wheel, possible modes of transportation for Hannibal, and vacationing in Pompei, all the while claiming that if he doesn't make a good deal, Fetch will eat something disgusting (to which Fetch usually responds, "Say what?!").
As a running gag, Loud is sometimes shown keeping watch of something, whilst almost silently muttering "I see it..." repeatedly. When he loses sight of what he's watching, he immediately switches into continuously shouting "DON'T SEE IT!!" This gag first appeared in the episode "Attack of the Vikings", where he is shown playing lookout for a pack of Vikings; specifically, he is shown watching to make sure that land is always visible, so the crew doesn't get lost. The one time he did get them lost, Eric the Red discovered Greenland.
Another of Loud's running gags is when he demonstrates the advent of an exceedingly loud-sounding invention or event (such as the creation of dynamite or the breaking of the sound barrier) in the only way he knows how. In these sketches, the viewer is "advised" to turn the TV volume up to its highest setting (which the viewer shouldn't really do) for maximum effect.
Loud is also the most frequent member of the Histeria! Kid Chorus, shown singing many songs that came up in the show's run, including the theme song. Usually, his fellow chorus members include Charity Bazaar (with whom he usually falls in love in fanfiction), Froggo, and Aka Pella.
In the episode "The Teddy Roosevelt Show", he appears as the son of a character portrayed by Elmer Fudd. However, as Histeria! fan writer JusSonic mentions in one of his fanfics, Elmer is only playing Loud's father, and therefore the idea that Elmer is Loud's father is not canon. This is especially evident in the fact that Loud does not share Elmer's speech impediment.
Loud was voiced by Cody Ruegger, the youngest son of Histeria! creator Tom Ruegger. In fact, Tom has stated that Loud's personality is based off of Cody, because he "has the tendency to be the loudest kid on Earth".[1]
