The 287ft Louisiana, one of the last wooden steamers on the Great Lakes, was driven ashore in the islands of Porte des Mortes, between Green Bay and Lake Michigan, at 2am Saturday, Nov. 8, and cosumed by fire, becoming the storm's first victim.
