User talk:LostLeviathan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself.
- Read the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox.
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk or ask me on my talk page.
- To sign your name on a talk page, please finish your comments with ~~~~ (four tildes). The wiki will insert a link to your userpage and the timestamp.
- Not every subject needs its own page. Sometimes it is wiser to deal with certain subjects together on one page. See Wikipedia:Merge and Wikipedia:Redirect for some background. You may want to review Avoiding common mistakes to get started quickly.
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

[edit] thefacebook
I saw your edit to the facebook talk page. Are you on it? If so, may I direct you to Wikipedians who use thefacebook. I've added my name there if you'd like to add me back. Mike H 08:33, Dec 6, 2004 (UTC)
- Nah, I'd rather keep some degree of anonymity on Wikipedia. Thanks, though. --LostLeviathan 19:49, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects for deletion
Hello. I removed the Speedy tag from Graffiti (PalmOS), as it doesn't qualify as a CSD. If you like, you can list it at Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion. Thank you. SWAdair | Talk 08:11, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- You mean Graphiti (PalmOS); Graffiti (PalmOS) is an extremely useful redirect. And you're right; I apologize, I'll go through the request system. --LostLeviathan 20:09, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Mini/POP/Progesterone only pill
Yes all the same thing. Progestin is the term for synthetic progesterones that is used in USA. Thanks for pointing out this missed expansion of terminology. Hope you feel the edit to Progesterone only pill is clear, I have also added redirects Mini pill, Mini-pill. - David Ruben 11:59, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response! The article looks good now, though perhaps a bit too dependent on comparison to the standard oral contraceptive. --LostLeviathan 07:05, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Capitalization
I noticed your fix of capitalization in Fantasy films. I believe the wiki standard is that the first word of an article or subhead be capitalized, but not the second word unless it would be capitalized in a sentence. Thus, "Photographing fairies". --Rick Norwood
- (Please remember to sign your posts.) If you look at the article, Photographing Fairies, it's about a film of that name. The film's title is officially spelled with both words capitalized [1], so it falls under the category of proper nouns. Please look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) more carefully. Surely you're not suggesting that the article on Star Wars should instead be called Star wars? --LostLeviathan 21:52, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Doodle
You asked a question at Talk:Doodle many moons ago. The article has since been expanded and I believe now has an answer. Cheers, BanyanTree 17:12, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. That's quite helpful. --LostLeviathan 21:51, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ampersands in MediaWiki
I've been trying to set up my .htaccess as you have described at Meta, but while I can generate %26 in place of the ampersand in the URL, I can't get it to actually go to a page with an ampersand in it! I'm running 1.5.8 with the following .htaccess:
Options FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /index.php?title=$1 [L,QSA] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/.*&.* RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/.*&.* RewriteRule ^/?(.*)&(.*)$ /index.php?title=$1\%26$2 [L]
