Los Guerreros (The Guerreros) is a professional wrestling stable formed when two or more members of the Guerrero family become a tag team, regardless of the promotion. The most recent incarnation of the Los Guerreros stable was in World Wrestling Entertainment on the SmackDown! brand, comprised of Eddie Guerrero and his nephew Chavo Guerrero.

[edit] Eddie and Chavo

Los Guerreros was the official name of Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero when they were a tag team in World Wrestling Entertainment who were 2-time WWE Tag Team Champions together. This Los Guerreros formed sometime during 2002 following Eddie Guerrero's jump to the SmackDown! brand. Eddie had been Chris Benoit's tag partner on Raw, but Benoit turned face and moved into a feud with Kurt Angle while they were a tag team on the side. Eddie and Chavo ended up teaming up as a heel tag team when a tournament was announced to crown the WWE Tag Team Champions, then a new belt just being introduced. Los Guerreros defeated Mark Henry and Rikishi to make it to the simi-finals where they lost to Kurt Angle and Benoit. Angle and Benoit went on to defeat Edge and Rey Mysterio in the finals at No Mercy.

Following this tournament, Los Guerreros remained a team while Edge and Mysterio took the belts from Angle and Benoit on Smackdown one week. At Survivor Series, Los Guerreros would gain the WWE Tag Team Championship. After facing makeshift teams consisting of Edge, Mysterio, and Benoit for a few months, they turned face to feud with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, then called Team Angle. They would lose the Tag belts to Team Angle. Eddie Guerrero later teamed up with Tajiri to win back the belts due to an injury to Chavo. Team Angle, by now known as The World's Greatest Tag Team, won back the belts but Los Guerreros became 2 time WWE Tag Champions a few months later when Chavo returned from injury. They would lose the belts to the Basham Brothers about a month later, leading to a few month-long storyline in which Chavo eventually turned on Eddie, breaking up the team. Eddie Guerrero then ascended to the main event by becoming a WWE Champion.

  • Tactics
This Los Guerreros became extremely over with the crowd using the gimmick and motto "We lie. We cheat. We steal."
One of their most popular in-ring tactics was to toss an illegal weapon (Chair, belt etc) to their opponent when the referee's back was turned and then drop to the canvas as if they had been struck with it. When the referee would finally turn around, the opponent would be caught seemingly red handed.
Following the breakup of this team, Eddie would retain the gimmick while Chavo became more of a classical heel.

[edit] Chavo Guerrero and Chavo Classic

Following the breakup of the prior Los Guerreros, Chavo Guerrero was soon joined by his dad Chavo Classic. Chavo Classic was primarily Chavo Guerrero's manager throughout the run.

Following Chavo Guerrero's loss to Eddie Guerrero at the Royal Rumble, Chavo was jealous of Rey Mysterio in the storyline because Mysterio had sung the theme song of the upcoming Pay Per View event, No Way Out, and because Mysterio was Cruiserweight Champion. Guerrero would win the Cruiserweight Title at No Way Out. A few months later on Smackdown, Chavo Guerrero challenged anybody to a match for the Cruiserweight Title. Jacqueline accepted the challenge and won the Cruiserweight Title. At Judgement Day, Chavo Guerrero regained the Cruiserweight Title with 1 arm tied behind his back, however Chavo Classic would win the Cruiserweight Title by accident on that week's Smackdown when Spike Dudley knocked him onto Chavo Guerrero. Chavo Classic would go on to hold the belt for about a month before he lost it to Rey Mysterio. Chavo Classic would later be fired by WWE for no-showing. He felt he should have been portrayed as a legend rather than a comedy act.

[edit] Chavo Guerrero and Vickie Guerrero

The current version of Los Guerreros is Chavo Guerrero and the widow of Eddie Guerrero, Vickie Guerrero (they are not referred to, however, as Los Guerreros). Vickie acts as the manager/valet for Chavo who is upset about Eddie's name being used by non-Guerreros. The duo uses the cheating tactics that made the Guerreros famous, though this time to the dismay of the audience instead of the delight.
