Los Gatos Daily News
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Los Gatos Daily News is a free daily newspaper in Los Gatos, California published 6 days a week with an average daily circulation of 8,000 copies per day. The newspaper was founded May 15, 2002 by Dave Price (journalist) and Jim Pavelich, who also published the Palo Alto Daily News. Both papers are distributed in large red newspaper racks and in stores, coffee shops, restaurants, schools and major workplaces. The Los Gatos Daily News, along with five other Daily News editions, was sold to Knight Ridder on Feb. 15, 2005.
The 30,000-person community of Los Gatos is served by three primary newspapers: the San Jose Mercury News, the Los Gatos Daily News, and the Los Gatos Weekly Times. All three media outlets are now owned by the non-local McClatchy company, which has sold them to Media News of Denver. Because of this, local residents formed the Los Gatos Observer, an online alternative source of news and information, on July 1, 2006.
