Los Diamantes de Ojinaga

Los Diamantes de Ojinaga is a norteño band from the rural northern Mexican town of Ojinaga, Chihuahua. Los Diamantes, like many other norteño bands from Ojinaga, use both the saxophone and accordion in their music.

Los Diamantes is a really popular group among young people in western Texas. They became really popular in 2002 and are really looked forward to when it comes to them playing in quinceaneras or weddings. Not only that, but they tour nation wide to cities such as Denver, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, and Phoenix, to name a few; and are now starting to tour to Mexico to cities like Acuna, Durando, and Chihuahua. One of the founders of the group is Adolfo Porras.The Diamantes hometown is 'OJ' (Ojinaga, Chihuahua). One town where they're really popular in is Odessa, Texas. Some of their greatest hit songs are "La Serenata", "Yo Sin Ti", "Mala Cabeza". In September of 2006, the lead singer of the group left due to a dispute,leaving the band in hands of another family member which turned out best for the band. The new vocalist, Jose Alfredo Porras, joined in September 2006 due to the abandonment of their previous lead vocalist. New reviews from radio stations and promoters in both Mexico and the United States indicate that the Diamantes the Ojinaga have a brighter future with the new band member.
