[edit] Disney Parks Disneyland Park, etc...
Hi... I called Disneyland Media Relations, and they told me that the word Park always uses a Capital P. They confirmed that there is an error on the website with the lowercase p. But on the most recent Disneyland Park logo, the P is capital. Sorry for the confusion.
[edit] Disney Logos
Can I just mention that you are uploading many logos for Disney-related articles that have already been uploaded, like an unnecessary logo for the Disneyland Resort - which was older than the logo previously uploaded - , Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, Happiest Homecoming on Earth, Epcot and Disneyland Park. I have a full list of Disney logos on my user page, please refer to the page before uploading more. --Speedway 17:41, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
You still seem to be uploading logos which have already been uploaded. This uses valuable space on the already stressed Wikimedia servers, please refrain from it in the future or I will have to explain the situation to an administrator. --Speedway July 5, 2005 18:59 (UTC)
I do appreciate your reply and acknowledgment. I can come across as quite abrupt and pretentious in these circumstances, but I do also appreciate all your contributions to Disney pages on Wikipedia. I have noticed your work to put logos on important Disney pages, and I am very impressed. I am apologise if I have come across as hostile.--Speedway July 5, 2005 19:58 (UTC)
[edit] I really need to know....
Where the hell you get these fantastic Disney logos from? I have never even seen the Remember one! Reply ASAP! --Speedway 15:44, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
Regarding placing the FastPass availability logo on some of the Disney pages -- it would be more meaningful and/or helpful to the casual reader to indicate what the logo is (why do we even need the logo in the first place?) and if you could link that to the Wiki Fastpass page while you're at it. SpikeJones 04:51, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
- I thought just having a simple FP Logo or Single Rider logo would be easier to see if the Attraction has a FASTPASS option. I certainly see where you're coming from, but that wasn't the point I was making. While you and I know what the FP and Single Rider options are (and possibly could recognize the logos off the bat), the non-Disney person that's browsing Wiki might not know what they are. As long as it's clear to the casual observer what those icons mean, then it's fine to stay without modification. Regardless, it would probably still be a good thing to link the FP reference to the Wiki FP page.SpikeJones 14:55, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Spinboy 04:29, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, I see you have made a considerably large amount of edits to Disney related articles. We have our own little community of sorts within Wikipedia, us Disney editors, and you will soon get to know us all. Hope you have a good time on Wikipedia. --Speedway 18:49, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Criticisms
- Reading the information you linked to me, I apologize for the additional work I created. I will take better care in the future. LordBleen 00:34, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)
Your edits were not an uncommon newcomer error; they were just compounded by the quantity in such a short time. Such boldness in editing is usually a commendable trait. I hope this initial misstep doesn't discourage you from making many more contributions to Wikipedia.
By the way, what you do with your talk page is your choice, of course, but it's usually considered bad form to remove criticisms. Usually, the best thing to do is to respond to them calmly and reasonably, just as you did to mine on my talk page. It's widely recognized on Wikipedia that any substantial contributor will have their critics, whether warranted or not, and acknowledging mistakes is a good way to show others that you are a reasonable person. (Getting a rambling, raving criticism, on the other hand, is practically a rite of passage that shows you've really made it on WP. ☺) You can check out my own talk page (under Fictional music groups, Baen Free Library, and Semicolon...) for a few examples of my own mistakes. — Jeff Q (talk) 01:21, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] US/UK English
Systematically changing UK English to US English is liable to be seen as offensive by those not from the US, especially when your comments claim it to be a "correction". I strongly recommend against it. -- Jmabel | Talk 03:15, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, it can be seen as offensive from those from the U.S. as well, like myself, who have been brutalized in Manual of Style wars and are interested in keeping the peace. If you'd like to see what you're getting yourself into, check out the virtual reams of arguments in the many archives of Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (the only talk page I know that needs a directory page for its collection of archive pages). Pandora's Box awaits. ☺ Jeff Q (talk) 09:03, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ducktales.jpg
Are you sure that is an actual Disney picture? It looks like a third party drawing. Is this accepted on Wikipedia? Tfine80 05:35, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Disney logo on template pages
Unfortunately, probably not. A good portion of many of our "fair use" claims revolves around the fact that we use the images in educational encyclopedia articles. So, if we include the image on a template that isn't included in an encyclopedia article, we probably don't have a good "fair use" claim for it. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information. Cheers, JYolkowski // talk 15:44, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- You're right, it's not different, but that isn't permissable either - the logos should be removed from the stub templates too. JYolkowski // talk 21:05, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:KOAT_Logo.png - Disney?
I just wanted to see where you got the information that the KOAT logo is trademarked by Disney. I understand that it's an ABC affiliate, but the station itself is owned by Hearst-Argyle, not Disney. Thanks. --Oddtoddnm
[edit] Thanks
Hi Lord Bleen, I just saw your addition of a logo to American Financial Group Incorporated and wanted to thank you for you great work with logos in general. Keep it up! Christopher Parham (talk) 03:51, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Icon
Please do not change categories into redirects. Category redirects do not work. Any articles placed in the redirected category continue to appear in that category, not in the target category. Thanks. --ssd 01:10, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Art Bell
I noticed you removed my addition to the Art Bell page. I added the fact that his book, The Coming Global Superstorm was the basis for the movie The Day After Tomorrow. In your revision your note said that it was vandalism. Since I am new to Wikipeida, I want to know why it was considered Vandalism. Thank you.

[edit] Kali river rapids - Ride length vs show length
I noticed that you are the source of the "show length" information. An anonymous user has added a "ride length", which is one minute longer. I don't see a difference between "ride length" and "show length" for this attraction. Please visit the discussion at Talk: Kali River Rapids. (By the way, I love the logos that you've added to the various Disney attractions.) ManoaChild 20:49, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Disney park template colours
Hi, thanks for the work you did on my Disney park templates, I just need to get the correct web pages for Disneyland Park/Walt Disney Studios Park and Tokyo Disneyland/Tokyo DisneySea instead of Disneyland Resort Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort like you did with Walt Disney World Resort parks.
I have just changed the colours on the templates of the WDW parks, the Tokyo parks and the Paris parks, and left the California parks yellow - I am struggling to find a colour for the Hong Kong park. If you can find a good colour, like red, could you change it please? I need to go now so I'm counting on you! Thanks for all the work you do to Disney pages, P.S. do you think I should add the template to the two cruise ships? They are after all under the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts banner... Speedway 21:27, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- That is just what I meant, perfect. I'm gonna try out the template on the ships, if it doesn't look right, I'll revert. Thanks for the red! --Speedway 12:25, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
-
- Oh no, I have another favour ;).
I'm struggling to find a logo for the Disney Wonder, and Disney Magic - and I know who the guy is on Wikipedia for Disney logos. I want the same patterns on the ship pages as the park pages, with the logo, then an image - if I get images for the Magic and Castaway Cay (the Cay already has a logo), could you get the logos for the Wonder and the Magic? Thanks a lot, also, if you see another colour for the template boxes on the ship pages... lol, thanks.--Speedway 12:54, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Mission: Space vs. Mission: SPACE
I think that words should be capitalized normally, unless there is a valid reason for all capital letters. USA Today and the PGA Tour, for example, insist that their respective names be spelled in all caps, but there is no real reason to put "TODAY" and "TOUR" in all caps, except that they want to stand out more. So unless "Space" is an acronym, it should be spelled mixed case. tregoweth 01:48, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging for Image:SingleRiderAvailablity.png
Thanks for uploading Image:SingleRiderAvailablity.png. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Carls Jr.png
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Carls Jr.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

[edit] "Bleen"?
I recall that name as something from a George Carlin ersatz news bit, in which he said "bleen" was a newly-discovered number that was between six and seven. Wahkeenah 23:24, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Misc Disney Page?
As you've spent some time with the Disney pages, I thought I'd ask you: what's your opinion of this page: List of attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort vs List of current Magic Kingdom attractions? I believe the former is poorly organized and lacks current information, aside from the fact that it would be yet another "list" page to update and maintain vs the latter, having pages for current/past "attractions" specifically for each park (which makes infinite more sense). Your thoughts? SpikeJones 21:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
