Talk:Lords of River Run

- Danladi
As one of Roelstra's many illegitimate daughters, she would be entitled to the courtesy title of 'Lady', but she would not be entitled to a 'surname' (such as 'of Castle Crag' or 'of Princemarch'). The only exception to this apparent convention that I can think of is Pol, who was essentially legitimized by Rohan. --KC 17:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I just found another one. In the Index of Characters at the back of The Star Scroll, Melanie lists Riyan as 'Riyan of Skybowl', even though his parents were commoners at the time of his birth. --KC 18:42, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

- Ahh, you're right. For some reason I thought I saw one of Roelstra's illegitimate daughters with 'of Castle Crag' tacked onto her name... Actually Meiglan had of Gracine Manor attached to her name, but I think Sunrunner's Fire stated that it was her Keep or something. Ianthe's sons have of Feruche attached to their names too... perhaps because they're sons? Anyway, thanks for pointing this out. I'll correct Danladi's title. Anarkeya 07:31, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- I never noticed that with Ianthe's sons before, but you're right! I guess it's because Ianthe never married and never really planned to get married (which might mean that her husband would become Lord of Feruche, but she had no desire to share her power with anyone). As a result, her sons were her only children and the only heirs to Feruche. Just goes to show that there are exceptions to every rule. ;) If there's any doubt, I just go with what Melanie says. --KC 14:46, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
